Saskatchewan is known for its spirit of volunteerism. OSAC continues to thrive on the strength of our volunteers. Please join us in congratulating the following 2009 recipients of the OSAC Volunteer Recognition Award:

Thank you very much for your tireless contributions to the arts in your community.
The Volunteer Recognition Certificate Award recognizes volunteers whose hard work, commitment and generous gifts of time and talent have helped enhance arts development and the quality of life in their particular community. A maximum of one award can be presented each year by each community.

Award
The volunteer will be recognized for their outstanding contribution to the growth and development of the arts and they will have demonstrated service, leadership and commitment to their community.

Eligibility
  • Nominees must be residents of Saskatchewan.
  • Nominees must have made an outstanding contribution to the development and administration of arts council/school programs and activities.
  • Nominees must have been active in the community for one year or more to qualify.
  • The contribution must be voluntary.

Procedure
Any full arts council or associate member (school centre) in good standing with OSAC may nominate a volunteer for OSAC's Volunteer Recognition Award.

Selection Process
Each year an arts council and/or a school centre can select a maximum of one individual to receive the OSAC Volunteer Recognition Certificate Award. OSAC will provide the certificates to the community for presentation in the host community.

The names of the recipients should be submitted to the OSAC anytime prior to June 30.

The award recipients will be highlighted in the OSAC e-update and listed in the OSAC Annual Report. The nominator is responsible for the submission of a biography on the award recipient. The history should include:

  • the nominee's contributions to the arts council, school and their community. Please emphasize the significance of these contributions. Newspaper articles on the nominee could also be included.
  • a recent photograph of the nominee (if possible).
